FAgamin is a 38% Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) solution designed to function as a potent cariostatic agent, caries inhibitor, remineralizer, bactericide with anti-enzymatic action, protein coagulant, and desensitizer. It offers cariostatic, bactericidal, and dental remineralization benefits, combining the dual effects of silver and fluoride for optimal oral health.
FAgamin is suitable for a wide range of clinical uses:
- In non-vital teeth, during cavity preparations for prostheses, crowns, fixed bridges, posts, and before cementation to preserve the supporting structure.
- When removing crowns or amalgam fillings with leakage.
- On early or extensive carious lesions.
- In treating cavities in primary teeth where aesthetics are not a priority.
- In infected root canals (when diluted).

Patient Preparation:
- Ensure the tooth to be treated is washed and dried before starting the procedure.
Application Method:
- Use a swab or brush.
- Impregnate the swab or brush with 2 or 3 drops of FAgamin®.
Application Areas:
- Apply FAgamin® to temporary teeth.
- Use for incipient or rampant caries.
- Apply in pits and fissures after widening, if deemed necessary by the dentist.
- Use in cavity preparations for prosthesis, crowns, dies, and fixed bridges.
Root Canal Application:
- For root canals, dilute FAgamin® (1:10) with distilled water.
- Apply as necessary in root canal treatment.
Special Cases:
- Suitable for patients with severe cognitive and physical disabilities.
- Appropriate for patients with dental phobias.
Application Process:
- Place FAgamin® on the designated area of the tooth to be treated.
- Allow it to act for a few minutes by rubbing the applied area.
Rinsing:
- Rinse the treated area well to remove traces of the solution.
Mucous Membrane Protection:
- To avoid contact with the mucous membrane, isolate it with a cotton pellet or rubber dam.
Post-Application Instructions:
- Advise the patient not to eat or drink for a specific time after application.
- Schedule follow-up appointments as recommended by the dentist.
