- Initial Contouring: Begin by removing excess composite and shaping the restoration using a fine diamond or carbide bur.
- Disc Selection: Carefully open the disc package to prevent mixing or confusion of disc types. Select a disc with the appropriate diameter for gross reduction.
- Disc Attachment (Gross Reduction): Gently press the connector of the chosen disc onto a pre-sterilized mandrel until it is securely attached. Ensure the disc sits firmly without any wobble.
- Polishing Procedure: Begin polishing at a speed not exceeding 10,000 RPM. Adjust speed and duration accordingly when switching to a different type of disc.
- Cleaning: Once polishing is complete, thoroughly rinse the area to remove any polishing residue.
- Disc Removal: To remove the gross reduction disc, place your thumbnail beneath the disc connector and gently push the disc away from the mandrel.
- Contour Polishing: Attach a contouring disc by pressing its connector firmly onto the mandrel until secure. Ensure it is stable and wobble-free. Repeat steps 3–4, adjusting for the different abrasiveness of the new disc.
