- Prepare the Patient: Seat the patient comfortably in the dental chair and explain the teeth cleaning procedure to them to ensure their cooperation.
- Select the Flavor: Offer the patient a choice of flavors available – Cool Mint, Walterberry™, Bubble Gum, or Orange Dreamsicle. Allow them to choose their preferred flavor to enhance their overall experience.
- Tooth Polishing Cup: Load a dental prophy cup with an appropriate amount of Ultrapro™ Tx Prophy Polishing Paste. The amount needed may vary depending on the patient's cleaning requirements.
- Dry Teeth: Before applying the prophy paste, ensure the teeth are dry. Use a suction device to remove excess saliva and moisture for optimal paste adhesion.
- Application: Gently place the prophy cup loaded with the paste on the tooth surface. Ensure that the paste covers all the surfaces to be cleaned.
- Polishing Procedure: Holding the prophy cup at a slight angle to the tooth, activate the dental handpiece, and begin the polishing procedure. Move the prophy cup in small circular motions to effectively remove plaque, stains, and surface debris.
- Avoid Excessive Pressure: Use light to moderate pressure during polishing to avoid any discomfort or damage to the tooth enamel.
- Rinse and Inspect: Periodically stop the polishing process to rinse the mouth and check the cleaning progress. Repeat the polishing as necessary to achieve a smooth and polished surface.
- Rinse Thoroughly: Once the polishing procedure is complete, instruct the patient to thoroughly rinse their mouth to remove any residual paste.
- Check and Evaluate: Examine the teeth for any remaining stains or plaque. Perform any necessary touch-ups to achieve optimal results.
- Post-Polishing Care: Advise the patient to avoid consuming any food or beverages for at least 30 minutes after the procedure to allow the fluoride in the paste to fully benefit their teeth.
- Provide Aftercare Instructions: Offer post-treatment instructions on oral hygiene practices, such as brushing and flossing, to maintain the cleanliness and polish achieved during the procedure.
